(m C reactive protein ELISA, Strip Plate)

CRP-M ELISA: An ELISA designed to measure C-Reactive Protein in plasma, serum or cell culture supernatant of mouse origin.

Intended Use: CRP-M ELISA is a quantitative sandwich ELISA for measurement of mouse CRP found in plasma, serum, and supernatant.  It is for research purposes, and is not intended for diagnostic use.

Kit Contents: The CRP-M ELISA kit contains the following items:
a. 1 CRP-M Assay Plate
b. 2 CRP-M Diluent
c. 2 CRP-M Standard
d. 1 Biotinylated goat anti-CRP -M
e. 1 Streptavidin-HRP Conjugate
f. 1 Color Developer
g. 1 Color Stopper
h. 1 Instructions

Technical Background: C Reactive Protein (CRP) is a major acute phase reactant synthesized primarily in the liver hepatocytes. It is composed of 5 identical, 21,500-molecular weight subunits. CRP mediates activities associated with preimmune nonspecific host resistance. CRP shows the strongest association with cardiovascular events. It is detectable on the surface of about 4% normal peripheral blood lymphocytes. Acute phase reactant CRP is produced in the liver. C-reactive protein (CRP) is so named because it is able to effect precipitation of somatic C polysaccharide of Streptococcus pneumonia.

The levels in serum rise quickly following acute tissue damage and also falls very rapidly once the stimulus is removed. It has been proposed that the functions of CRP are to aid in complement activation, influence phagocytic cell function,
and augment cell mediated cytotoxicity. This is valuable diagnostic information in the detection of disease in all species.

Specimen Collection and Storage: Collect samples without preservative,
separate and clarify them by centrifugation if necessary. Samples
may be stored at 4˚C for up to 1 week or at -60˚C for up to 2 months. Prior
to assay, allow the samples to come to room temperature. Do not apply
heat to thaw frozen samples.

Specimen Required: Tissue culture supernatant, serum or plasma
(mouse).

Assay Range: 0.038 – 2.50 ng/ml

Precision: Intra- and inter-assay precision for samples within the assay range have a C.V. of <10%.
