Monoclonal antibodies have the ability to recognize individual antigenic sites on molecules, from drugs & hormones to antigens & cell receptors. Polyclonal antibodies are a heterogeneous mixture of antibodies directed against various epitopes on the same antigen.
Either monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies can be used for western blot, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications.
